About Us

Bob, from Inverness,  has been in New Zealand for 11 years and after a trial period working in the Health sector and local government of about 20 something high plus years decided to try something else. Celtic Connexions started in late 2003 after being frustrated in trying to find Celtic items here.We got going in Te Aroha,,Claudelands, into Hamilton East. We went online only in January 21012 closing down the store and making the time to market the business differently, and also organising the time for these tours. We became a Ltd Company in January 2011

The fun in here is sourcing `hard to get things` for others and helping people opening the doors to discovering  their roots. A chance conversation with some other Clan Wallace members about the Homecoming in 2009 resulted in a quick put together trip which was wonderful, a lot of fun.And what has now emerged as our Tour Company.

I have been playing the bagpipes for over 50 years and reguarly am the `duty piper ` at weddings and events around the area. Well travelled, totally passionate about the `celtic scene`pretty much unflappable.and I try to be an ambassador for Scotland`s peoples.

Joining us on future tours is the  very welcome addition  of Sue and John Patterson from Wellington. Sue originates from the North of England but is very passionate about the West Country and is heavily involved  in our plans for Celtic Cornwall. John adds a wealth of experience in bagpiping skills and they are both very well travelled throughout the Uk.
